LONGMONT TURKEY TROT
The Longmont Amateur Radio Club will be handling communications for the Turkey Trot this year, 2009. The race begins at 9:00am and lasts about 2 hours. We will need a base station at the school and 8 stations located through out the 10k ( 6 mile ) course to watch for traffic, accidents, injuries and to provide directions. Our primary frequency will be the club 2 meter repeater, 147.270.
To Sign Up email Doug, ke0si, at dadouga@cs.com. Or call him at 303-776.1135. You do not have to be a member of the club to participate. All hams are welcome. Those who sign up need to be there at 7:30 am to check in with the city, and get instructions.
This event provides public service for our community and it is a fun way to play with your radios. Hope to see you there.
