Tuesday Hamlet Net

LARC Tuesday Night Hamlet (Newbie) Net

The Tuesday Night Hamlet Net is an informal net for newer ham radio operators on the club's VHF and UHF repeaters.

This net is held every Tuesday evening* at 7:00 pm Mountain Time on the LARC repeaters.

VHF: 147.270 MHz (+) 100 Hz CTCSS tone (req'd and xmitted)
UHF: 448.800 MHz (-) 88.5 Hz CTCSS tone (req'd and xmitted)
(repeaters are always linked together)

If you can't get through on the repeaters (maybe too far away?), you can join us via the internet on EchoLink: WØENO-R (node 8305)

(*except for the rare holiday - and maybe even then)

The purpose of the net is to provide a weekly event for new ham radio operators, so they can learn how to use a net, ask questions and get answers, and make new friends who are in the same situation -- learning more about our hobby, learning how to use our radios, and getting more experience on the air in a friendly, non-intimidating environment.

This net begins with check-ins, a question or topic presented by the NCS (Net Control Station) for everyone to answer, and then a conversational Q & A session for all.

All questions are welcomed -- there is no such thing as a "dumb" question!  Every question of any kind (related to ham radio or about our club) is welcome!

Early check-ins begin at 6:55 pm, with the net beginning at 7:00 pm.

The current Net Manager is Charles Poch (K0ITP).

Acting as Net Control, as well as the protocol for participating in a controlled net, is a valuable skill to learn, and anyone who would like to give this activity a try should contact Chuck and set the date for your new NCS experience!
