2020 On the Air with Santa — December 1 – 5, 2020, 6PM-7PM Mountain Time

Ham radio operators from the Longmont Amateur Radio Club in Longmont, Colorado will be giving other HAMS the opportunity for youngsters to talk to Santa. This will be done via the club’s repeaters at

VHF: 147.270 MHz (+) 100 Hz CTCSS toneUHF: 448.800 MHz (-) 88.5 Hz CTCSS orEchoLink: WØENO-R (node 8305)

During the event young and experienced can get on the air and talk to Santa. To participate all you need is a Ham Radio and a licensed operator.

Each night at 6PM Santa will get on the air and call out for hams to get on the air with him.

With Covid-19 and social distancing the LARC wanted to try to bring us a little closer and talk to Santa , since we probably will not be seeing him in person this year at Malls and such.

LARC is a non-profit community organization that is always trying to give back, since 1969.

LARC participates in parades, emergency events and in supporting the community anyway they can with additional communications means.

Hamlet Net (for newer operators) Tonight (09/15, Tues) at 7 pm

LARC Tuesday Night Hamlet (Newbie) Net

The Tuesday Night Hamlet Net is an informal net for newer ham radio operators on the club's VHF and UHF repeaters.

This net is held every Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm Mountain Time on the LARC repeaters.

VHF: 147.270 MHz (+) 100 Hz CTCSS tone (req'd and xmitted)UHF: 448.800 MHz (-) 88.5 Hz CTCSS tone (req'd and xmitted)(repeaters are always linked together)

(except for the rare holiday - and maybe even then)

The purpose of the net is to provide a weekly event for new ham radio operators, so they can learn how to use a net, ask questions and get answers, and make new friends who are in the same situation -- learning more about our hobby, learning how to use our radios, and getting more experience on the air in a friendly, non-intimidating environment.

This net begins with check-ins, a question or topic presented by the NCS (Net Control Station) for everyone to answer, and then a conversational Q & A session for all.

All questions are welcomed -- there is no such thing as a "dumb" question!  Every question of any kind (related to ham radio or about our club) is welcome!

Early check-ins begin at 6:55 pm, with the net beginning at 7:00 pm.

The current Net Manager is Charles Poch (K0ITP).
