Disconnecting from the Grid – Practical Examples

This month Ron will present a practical step-by-step process to move your radio operation off the grid.  Specific products will be highlighted, offering a proven configuration for when the lights go out.  In addition, a working portable ‘Go-Box’ powered from house power, solar, or battery power will be demonstrated.  Finally the highly reviewed Icom IC-7300 HF Transceiver will be shown.  The IC-7300 is a great mid-level HF radio fully capable of working the world.  Join us and get hands-on experience with some great products.

We are pleased to announce that EOSS will be presenting at our November General Meeting.  Edge of Space Sciences (EOSS) is a Denver, Colorado based non-profit that explores science using amateur radio positioned on high altitude balloons.  EOSS flew balloons carrying radios during the recent solar eclipse.  This should be an interesting conversation from a number of perspectives.
