Before the FCC, Tyro Petition
On August 14, 2017, one of our members, AD0WU, petitioned the Commission to add an entry level license to Amateur Radio. Further, the Petition adds some structure to virtually vacant spectrum in our 70cm band for a nationwide FM repeater system built and run by Amateur Radio in partnership with FEMA’s CERT program. See the Tyro Petition at: www.2HTI.com
Permanent Antenna is installed
The permanent VHF antenna has been installed again at the Justice Center. Please get the word out to test the repeater.

LARC ARRL Field Day 2017
LARC ARRL Field Day 2017
Saturday June 24th AND Sunday June 25th – we need you
If you want to see what HF operation is like, we encourage you to come and have some FUN. Everyone is welcome whether or not you have a license or what your license class is. If you are an experienced HFer, then sit down at a radio and see what you can do. CW operators are also needed.
Location is Izaak Walton Park, same as last year, located down the hill from 3rd avenue on Sunset, next to the river in Longmont. We have the whole park including the pavilion and the air conditioned meeting room. We plan on setting up our radios in the meeting room. The building has a bathroom.

Repeater Operational at the Justice Center
The LARC VHF and UHF repeaters are now operational at their new Justice Center location. The move took three days to dissassemble, erect new antennas, and re-assemble the repeaters at the new location. At this time the same components are in use, but a number of items including the controllers will be upgraded over the next few months. In addition, we hope that some final tuning should further improve performance. Please give the repeaters a workout and report any problems.
