VOTA – Veterans on the Air

I am currently working on building up a program for veterans with the mission of connecting veterans through radio related hobbies.

We are currently planning on running a monthly net starting October 22, 2024 at 1800 hours on the Longmont Amateur Radio Club Repeaters.

Each month we will be hosting a different topic that is heavily applicable to veterans.

For the October net we will be discussing the topic of ‘cool places the military sent you.’

Although we will not be checking or actively excluding participation in the net from non-veterans,

the net is particularly tailored for veterans to be able to connect.

Ideally, we will be able to reach more veterans through echolink(8305) and broadcastify,

and it is the goal that each net we are able to help a veteran that is struggling, even if we never know about it.
