Pictures from the LARC Annual Family PicnicSaturday August8thWe had 24 guests at the picnic on Saturday. The weather provided beautiful blue skies, very slight breeze. The lake with its island provided an awesome back drop.John Stransky was the chef cooking up burgers and National Jewish hot dogs, cooked to order. There were an abundance of chips and salads to complement the meal.Freshly picked grill roasted corn was provided, smothered with butter if desired. There were low calorie pies (ahem) to round out the meal.A very good meal was enjoyed by all.
The young children played in the little dribbling brook running through the back yard. The golden retriever and very tame Rottweiler provided ample security and opportunity for petting and feeding the dogs.
The 17 year old grandson of our hosts, John and Caralyn, was there and told tales of his 11 years of living in Cambodia. He is on his way to college on the East coast.
There were the usual technical discussions. It was a very pleasant afternoon.

We are delighted to share that Governor Jared Polis has proclaimed this week as Amateur Radio Week in Colorado, surrounding Field Day! This proclamation underscores the significant role amateur radio operators play in emergency communication, public service, and innovation.
Field Day offers a unique opportunity to showcase our skills, connect with the community, and celebrate the spirit of amateur radio. Let’s come together to make this week memorable and impactful.
Best wishes to all amateur radio operators in Colorado for a successful and enjoyable Field Day! We hope to catch you all on the airwaves!!
